Inspired by Canadian musician Gord Downie and his band, The Tragically Hip, teachers from Parkcrest Elementary and Chaffey Burke launched a collaborative school project to accomplish three goals: 1) honour Gord聽and the聽Hip, 2) raise money for cancer research and 3) celebrate Canada150. Two schools, 700+ students, one HIP song and hours of rehearsals later, the voices of the students unite, captured in a heartfelt video produced by the Burnaby Learning Technologies team. The video is the schools contribution to 鈥淜ids Guide to Canada 150鈥 鈥 an online interactive map that aims to connect 5 million students nationwide by showcasing their unique 鈥渃ommunity鈥 projects.聽
