A reading program that provides extra support for struggling readers isÌýmaking a difference in several Burnaby Schools. The program matches reading volunteers with individual students whoÌýtogether enjoy some uninterrupted quiet reading time twice a week. It began as aÌýpilot project in the District last Fall at Windsor and Stride, andÌýhas sinceÌýexpanded to 4 more District schools.ÌýThe program is run by the One to One Literacy Society. TheyÌýhave a wait list ofÌýinterested Burnaby schools Ìý – they just need more adult reading volunteers.ÌýÌý
